Nov 23, 2009 · That is one of the great things about 4.0, the hypervisor is now 64-bit. It's correct that vmware does support 64-bit guests on 3.5. My statement about me recommending it or not was not based on a compatibility matrix, it was just my opinion. By the way, 4.0 update 1 is out, and it does now fully support 2008 r2 and Windows 7.

Nov 30, 2009 · I was planning on a future purchase Server Heartbeat but it appears from the Server Heartbeat pdf that it isn't support on Windows 2008 64-BIT yet. It isn't even support on 2003 64-BIT yet. My plans were to bring my vCenter server up to 2008 64-BIT this week and then plan in my budget for next year to get Server Heartbeat.

May 27, 2010 · I've done a fresh install of Windows 2008 R2 64 Bit to a new VM on a different cluster and am not getting the Oracle problem. I'm and slowly now rebuilding it to look like the failing systems to see if I can discover what made it break. Update: I've now eliminated the cluster as the problem as well as VMWare Tools.
