Sep 08, 2015 · I noticed it's not just SQL 2012 that is behind on latest SP support...but basically every version of MS SQL. SQL Server 2008 R2 SP3. Release date: September 26th, 2014. 251 days since release and still not supported. SQL Server 2012 SP2. Release date: June 10th, 2014. 359 days since release and still not supported.

VMware supports SQL Server 2012 AlwaysOn Availability Group, AlwaysOn Failover Cluster Instances, in additional to the legacy SQL Server database mirroring and SQL Server failover clustering availability features. From my understanding, SQL Failover Cluster Instance is supported by vSphere, also AlwaysOn Availability Group is also supported.
