Nov 23, 2009 · VT is needed for 64bit versions only. Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 are not really supported since they are not yet released to public. They are in experimental support mode, means that both OSes can run but there can be issues with them. So there is no guarantee.

Nov 03, 2009 · We're running a few VM's with Windows 2008 R2, and they run just fine. Make sure when you install the VMware Tools, you uncheck the SVGA drivers. Installing those will cause your BSOD and Hanging issues. If you search the forums, you'll see lots of posts with the same issue...
