If it lists vPro, then it will support Hardware virtualization. To see which Chip-sets support vPro, you can refer to the Chipset List on Intel’s Website. I have not been able to find a great source as to what specific chipsets support the AMD-V feature, however, most motherboards with an AM2 socket and newer will support the AMD-V technology.

Oct 30, 2019 · AMD has not created a server version of the Ryzen chip. Therefore, Windows Server nor Hyper-V Server are even supported on the Ryzen chip. This issue is 100% AMD's call. If they don't want to support Windows Server on the Ryzen, then the ability to support nested virtualization is moot.

I think on some Intel motherboards in the past, the motherboard manufacturers also have control of whether or not to support Virtualization, so it's safe to assume that AMD will have some sort of "AMD-V" technology for Ryzen, but motherboard manufacturers might have to implement it into the chipset.

Frankly, had I to do it all over, I'd have gone your way and pushed our shop to VMWare or KVM. Simply because Microsoft seems to treat AMD-V as a red-headed stepchild, and they still don't support nested virtualization on any AMD processor (including the new Epyc processors).
