Jul 15, 2013 · Because: I'm doing FreeBSD kernel development and crashing the VM a lot. Each time it reboots, VMware VBIOS resets the mode, which undoes my window-size dragging. The 80x25, 8x14 mode helps a bit -- it's slightly smaller than the default 8x16. Sadly, 80x25, 8x8 doesn't help. Someone, and I think it's VMware, is line-doubling the 8x8 cell.

Apr 19, 2014 · For instance, the VMWare Tools do not build at all on FreeBSD 10 and even if they do, they use an old compatibility layer. On top of that, the compatibility page does not seem to have updated to show FreeBSD as a supported Guest OS for VMWare Fusion 6. I was interested FreeBSD with vagrant and they seem to support VMWare Fusion.

Dec 28, 2019 · Thank you for your reply blackhaz, but I managed to resolve the issue myself The problem was that for some reason, there was a symlink in /usr/local/etc/rc.d to /etc/rc.d, instead of a regular directory in /usr/local/etc/rc.d, and that caused the fsck script to run twice, and that caused the problem.
