Mar 06, 2017 · I found several threads with a similar title, but all were about a bad combination of VM hardware version and VMWare Tools version. In this case I used the latest hardware version and the VMWare Tools, that are bundled with ESXi. I tried different hardware versions as well. I also tried editing the properties of the VM and enabled mks.enable3d.
