Mar 06, 2017 · But there's one thing which I cannot solve: I can not enable 3D support on any VM! I tried it with a Windows 10 and a Windows 7 VM, both 64 bit Versions. I found several threads with a similar title, but all were about a bad combination of VM hardware version and VMWare Tools version.

Aug 16, 2013 · I have installed Google Earth on a Windows Server 2008 R2 vm but can't get the 3D graphics to work. Google Earth runs but only dispalys the outline of countries. The enable 3D support option is is greyed out. I have updated the display driver to VMware SVGA 3D (Microsoft WDDM) and selected auto detect settings for the video memory.

I was having problems with VMware Workstation 9.0.0 not working after i updated the kernel to 3.5, on ubuntu 12.04. Then i uninstalled and installed version 9.0.1, and added the above line to my WinXP VMX file, and now i get full 3D support. Actually just tested Win 8, and Aero Glass is working as well. I have Intel HD 3000 VGA by the way.

Enable 3D graphics by selecting Enable 3D Support. Set the 3D Renderer to Automatic or Hardware. I am disappointed to learn that the Parallels 10 (and earlier) does not support hardware accelerated 2D (nor 3D) graphics when Mac OS X is the guest OS.. This means Yosemite inside Parallels runs noticeably slowly in its screen rendering. Menus are delayed when dropping down.
