Jul 30, 2013 · if u run out of disk space in a VM then the easiest way to power on a VM is to reduce the memory of the VM to its minimum. ex:- if it is 8gb then edit the vm settings to make it 1gb and power on the vm and it will power on now since u have 7gb free space now. once u power it on, empty as much space as u can from inside the VM.

'Name of the VM’ has been paused because it has run out of disk space on 'D:\Hyper-V\virtual Hard Disks\'. Oct 27, 2016 · 'VM' requires resynchronization because it is about to run out of disk space on 'D:\vmhdds\' available space is less than 300 MB. The D:\ drive on the host machine (the one running the VM) has 250+ GB free, and there are no disk/folder quotas active. The VM's HDD size is 1.44TB and the server being replicated to has 1.8TB free.

Hi, My server (sbs2011 guest on a hyper-v core) was every few seconds put in pause because the VHD file was running out of space. I would resume it and once connected, as I suspected, the room "INSIDE" the guest, ie the space available in Windows Explorer was at least 40GB.

It grows to exceed the original vhdx file before finally being merged and clearing up plenty of disk space. Unfortunately, during the process, you are tortured when watching the available disk space shrink while you hope that you do not run out of disk space.
