A quick look at the strings in the library shows that libdvdread_plugin.dylib has "Encrypted DVD support unavailable" in the vlc-2.1.2 copy, but not in the vlc-2.1.1, even though these are both ostensibly libdvdread version 4.2.0

On Lubuntu Artful Aardvark I have no problem with playing videos by making use of VLC 2.2.6. However I would like to use the built-in Chromecast option of the 3.0.1 version. I got it via the snap package management system. When I try to watch a DVD I get the following message: libdvdread: Encrypted DVD support unavailable.
