Vista (or Windows XP, 2000 Pro, NT Workstation) does not support RAID5. If you have RAID5 set up, then you are probably running a 3rd party solution, probably implemented in hardware on your motherboard. Vista just sees the RAID array like any other hard drive, it does not "know" it's RAID.

Jul 12, 2008 · Hello, I can't seem to find any info on the net regarding Vista and software raid support. AFAIK Vista is based on the Win2k3 server kernel, so I guess it shouldn't be a problem including software raid, but the question is will it be enabled or reserved for Server 2007 only.
