Jun 07, 2008 · I am using a Windows Vista laptop, and I face a strange problem. When I run a fullscreen application (like a video game, not Windows Media Player) where the resolution is smaller than my monitor's resolution, it will not stretch the screen, leaving a black rectangle around the screen which I cannot move my mouse pointer to.

WDDM does not support running all of the DOS video modes. There is no simple solution to this no support for full screen window in Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. In almost all possible workarounds, you are almost guaranteed that your Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 will be broken in some way, at least on the part on Windows Aero.

Jan 19, 2007 · If it is a dos like application then you cannot use that in Vista. It does not support full screen mode for dos like software. But if it some other application then you can here try re-installing the application. There might be some issue with the same.
