May 30, 2007 · I have a Visio ER diagram created on a privies version of Visio. I have installed Visio Pro 2003 sp2 and now when I open this file I get " ER source model support is not installed " I can see the table layouts but I am unable to view any of the property values.

Oct 20, 2011 · Visio 2010 not responding when opening Database Model Diagrams Visio 2010 Premium edition installed on 32 bit Windows XP SP3. I had previously developed some database model diagrams by reverse enginneering using the above software.

Nov 12, 2010 · The current database modeling is available in the visio professional version and above. It does not support forward engineering of databases. IMO if you want to see where MS is going you should be watching visual studio and how it works with entity framework. I think I saw a comment that a model could be created in it...

I have Visio 2016 professional installed, which by all my research should support database reverse engineering. Every guide I find says to go to the Software and Database category and select "Database Model Diagram" for the Database tab to pop up with the option for reverse engineering.
