When I access that menu no matter what I select -- even the settings it defaults to -- when I click OK I get this error: VirtualDub Error: The capture device does not support the selected video format. 2) Despite all of this it seems to capture fine.

Jul 30, 2019 · VirtualDub means lossless, and you can downres later during editing/restoration output. (6) Audio playback during capture almost never works, causing massive dropped frames. Almost! It does work on a very few select cards, and on the right system, with zero frames lost. (7) You should always monitor your captures, but stop conditions are valuable.

May 23, 2014 · Why VirtualDub Say No Capture Device? VirtualDub needs a Video for Windows (VFW) capture driver to capture. Most Firewire (DV) devices do not provide such driver, and thus cannot be used by VirtualDub at all.
