    Jan 16, 2009 · Go to Hard Disks and change Disk 1 to be SATA Port 0 (instead of IDE) Make sure that Enable SATA controller is ticked. Reboot - the new system will be running on SATA controller. After that Disk 2 can be removed/deleted in VIrtualBox - I found that it was needed to allow iata82_enu.exe to find a SATA disk and install driver.

    Oct 04, 2014 · I have no problem installing on IDE then installing SATA support after, though I wish I could just install on SATA as it would make installation faster. But for now this'll do. The XP VM I'm using is only 4GB, I'm not really doing anything special on it that I'm concerned about security. It's a disposable VM that I test dangerous operations on.
