Oct 22, 2015 · The firewire device supports both 800 or 400 Mbps. A HD camcorder (Canon HV20) connected to either 1394a or the 1394b port and was tested, both 1394a and b worked. So to answer my own question, yes, Windows 10 supports firewire. Don't back down when you are right!

Feb 22, 2008 · You can install and run a Windows Virtual Machine just fine on a FireWire drive with either Parallels or VMWare's Fusion. You could even make a RAID array of USB 1.1 floppies and install the virtual machine there -- and it would run flawlessly... very slowly, but flawlessly.
