I've been on Virgin Boradband for a few weeks now. The service is great, but the support is terrible. I've just found out that Virgin do newsgroups, which would allow me to download files through anoehr method other than torrents, but I have no idea how to set it up.

When it was NTL the newsgroup was rubbish. It had hardly any groups on it.Also Virgin Media are pretty good. Virgin Media and TalkTalk where the only two ISP in the UK that wouldn't hand over user data to ACS:Law.Plus using newsgroup to download copyrighted content is a bit of an grey area.Author: Pinguy

Feb 26, 2013 · Several support requests have come in recently regarding SABnzbd being "slow" for some users . . . who all just happen to be on Virgin Media Broadband in the UK. These issues have nothing to do with SABnzbd, and everything to do with Virgin throttling traffic on ports 119 and 563, regardless of if you're running SSL or not.

I've just bought a new house and being the doyle that I am, didn't think to check internet access before agreeing. Turns out FTTC isn't available (Exchange is enabled, but cabinet isn't, with no date in sight), broadband speeds are abysmal (3-6mb/s, where I currently get 19) so the only choice left is Virgin.
