Apr 19, 2016 · That card has a USB chipset that generally works fine in Mac OS 9. Mac OS 9.1 requires a later version of USB Adapter Support than 1.4.1. If you have a working Mac OS 9.1 installer, I'd suggest doing a clean install with the USB card installed. You'll need to back up any applications or documents before doing so as you'll be erasing the drive.
