I know the audio hardware works because I have used Linux distro and sound is fine. I checked the registry and is already set. The hardware is found and I can install the idt HD inf file.

Dec 18, 2008 · yeah, it would not be fun when microsoft does not ADD the UAA to Windows XP SP3 and I will be glad to hear if Microsoft change the mind. Please include the UAA in Windows XP SP3 because more and more motherboards support HD Audio. No seperate fix anymore, I don't like that.

Oct 07, 2010 · Most audio drivers now include the UAA update, but some don't, and sometimes having on its own and not 'bundled' in to a driver can be helpful in repairing driver issues. This is especially true if you're using the Device Manager/Hardware Wizard/Have Disk method of installing drivers; you'd need KB888111 on it's own as an .exe.
