Mar 09, 2006 · The problem seems to be isolated to my PC only, from a Windows PC I can get all the files that fail (and from the same mirror). I also tried another Linux PC and was also able to get the files.

up2date depends upon the version flag of the redhat-release pkg from the rpm db... we don't munge the contents of the /etc/redhat-release file. redhat-release is the primary mechanism by which we understand what content a user should be pointed at server-side.

Oct 03, 2018 · Having yum working with the IBM repo using http and been able to install RPMs from the IBM repo using ACS, I am still unable to use the ACS utility to create an local copy of the repo, the utility does not honor the settings in ibm.repo and still tries to use ftp and I am unable to change this, the options are grayed out.

Part of the problem in my case, a rhel 6 satellite version 5.6, I found that spacewalk-java (and it's other rpms) had not been updated since the initial installation of the satellite server, even though I faithfully download/ingest and deploy satellite base and incremental channels as they are distributed per our patch plan for our Red Hat products.
