We are currently trying to run access the data on a server running a HP Ml110 G5 SATA raid controller, using the latest Ubuntu Live CD. We need to delete a few files to let the server boot into Windows but are unable to mount the partitions.

To follow up, this worked for me. I didn't realize good support for hardware RAID drivers is built into linux distros. For specifics, I used a 32bit Ubuntu 12.04 desktop CD to live boot and was able to access the Dell PERC 6/i controlled raid array. – Josh R Jun 7 '12 at 19:47

Install Ubuntu With Software RAID 10. The Ubuntu Live CD installer doesn't support software RAID, and the server and alternate CDs only allow you to do RAID levels 0, 1, and 5.
