Please note, the gma500 team last produced packages for the EMGD as of Ubuntu 10.10, and drivers for 11.04 and 11.10 are "Experimental".. Please use the gma500 team ppa for the EMGD driver. No, not a HP500Slate, but I have had ubuntu installed on a device with the same graphic chip (GMA500): Don't bother unless you are ready to jump through hoops or ready to be content with 2D-only . The GMA 500 has been a black page on the history of Intel.

Support is present in an experimental way for 11.10 and 12.04, but the installation procedure is not as simple as other drivers and can lead to many bugs.
