Dec 08, 2013 · I saw the pages of stackover flow about manually trim SSD in Linux and the script in cron.weekly of Ubuntu 14.04 beta2. Unfortunately, although Ubuntu 14.04 uses fstrim automatically, fstrim has lost data bug in high load I/O status except Intel and Samsung SSD.

The feature, which Ubuntu devs also plan to include in Ubuntu Touch images, enables SSDs to know which ‘blocks of data’ are no longer in use and can be safely wiped.

We need two things in order to enable TRIM: Installed and working Ubuntu or other GNU/Linux distribution with root and text editor.

No - Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 does not support TRIM. Newer Ubuntu versions does support it, because it is included in the kernel as of 2.6.33. Here you could find something more to read. If you want to use Ubuntu 10.04 you would have to upgrade your kernel to 2.6.33 or newer. Here is a good example. After you enable TRIM you would like to test it.
