On Lubuntu Artful Aardvark I have no problem with playing videos by making use of VLC 2.2.6. However I would like to use the built-in Chromecast option of the 3.0.1 version. Nov 19, 2017 · Description of problem or feature request. I installed handbrake on my ubuntu 16.04 machine. On the previous upgraded edition, it worked fine. What is wrong with it is I stick a DVD in the drive, it scans it, but does not allow for me to rip it.

Oct 02, 2013 · This video played without problem in the ubuntu 12.04 I had been previously using. The video was copied several years ago from a cd or dvd and consists of a folder titled VIDEO_TS containing 15 vob files, 9 bup files and 9 ifo files. Prior to upgrading to mint 15, I would normally play the video by dragging the folder to a totem window.

Nov 28, 2012 · I have vlc 2.0.3 installed on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. When I start vlc (with -I http) from a terminal window via ssh, I don't hear anything until I log in at the GUI. If I log out in the GUI the sound stops, and then when I log back in it starts again. Is audio somehow muted when I'm not logged in ? How can I work around this?
