Aug 23, 2016 · As stated earlier, UAS Protocol will be used by Windows 8 and later only if your USB 2.0/3.0 mass storage device supports it and your USB chipset/firmware support it. Windows 7 does not support UASP out-of-the-box but device manufacturer drivers can easily support it. UAS when used with USB 3.1 should be substantially faster than eSATA.

Some versions of Linux running kernel 2.6.3 and higher can take advantage of UASP, but it is limited to a very small set of supported hardware. Most USB 3.0 hard drive enclosures and docking stations support UASP.

Aug 28, 2019 · I finally discovered that this card, does support UASP and 10 gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 on the Windows 7 operating system and this may be the best bet for a Windows 7 upgrade of your USB ports. From what I been researching, what they advertise as USB 3.1 Gen 1 is just USB 3.0.

Apr 25, 2016 · Unfortunately it is only natively supported under Windows 8 and above, not in Windows 7. From what i have read so far, the only way to get support in Windows 7 is to use an ASUS motherboard which comes with (or download) drivers that allow it's ASMEDIA chipset to enable UASP for Windows 7.
