There's ISSLTransport and there's ITLSTransport. These are probably not the best interface names, but the former is for transports which are using SSLv2, SSLv3, or TLSv1 and the latter is for transports which support negotiating up to one of those mechanisms.

I was using Twisted trunk (2012-03-03), Python 2.7.1 32-bit, Server 2008 R2 SP1 64-bit. I tried the IOCP reactor before iocp-64bit-5373-2 and before iocp-win64-4669, but it exhibited the same problems. I have no problems with the select reactor. Sorry for the lack of test case.

Feb 25, 2016 · The issue is that in order to support both IOCP and select-style event loops, you need a fundamentally different interface (I'll use asyncio as my IOCP-friendly example throughout this discussion, but the same things are mostly true of Twisted under slightly different names).
