    You say it works with TrueCrypt but TrueCrypt doesn't support creating exFAT volumes. Matbe you tested it with NTFS which would work with VeraCrypt. My feeling is that this issue linked to some incompatibility between OSXFuse that VeraCrypt used to create virtual volumes and the way exFAT is implemented in MacOSX.
