Feb 12, 2012 · I am trying to build a low boy flatbed trailer and need help in sizing the I-beam. The trailer I-beams (2) will be 38' long and 7' apart. The axle will be at the very back and be able to be raised or lowered to allow frame to sit on the ground when loaded. when traveling on the highway the load is a 5000lb. horizontal tank.
