Oct 19, 2011 · I don't want to rain on your parade, but this looks like a normal consumer desktop Motherboard with an ordinary onboard NIC which offers no TOE features at all. So your question is pretty much moot. Neither motherboard nor NIC are on the HCL. The motherboard will most likely work with ESXi5, but the mentioned onboard NIC won't:

TCP offload engine - Wikipedia

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TCP_offload_engine
TCP offload engine (TOE) is a technology used in network interface cards (NIC) to offload processing of the entire TCP/IP stack to the network controller. It is primarily used with high-speed network interfaces, such as gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet, where processing overhead of the network stack becomes significant.. The term, TOE, is often used to refer to the NIC itself, although ...

The reason that NIC exists and has use, is for physical segmentation requirements. But in cases where their are performance desires, a dual port TOE NIC will perform far better. The quad port NICs also had an issues where, if TOE functionality was added, they still had a PCI-X bus interface. The bus would become the constrain point of the NIC.

TCP Offload Engine (TOE) is a technology employed on Chelsio’s Terminator series (T4 and T5) adapters to offload the processing of TCP/IP stack onto the Network Interface Card (NIC) and remove it from the host machine. This has several advantages: first, it frees up the CPU for other useful work; second, it eliminates some of the data transfers required since the card acts on the data locally.
