Oct 29, 2015 · This means a different info hash is generated so your torrent client sees it as a different torrent. It's a better solution than adding 0 length files that I've seen done. No help at all if you're just cross seeding existing torrents on multiple trackers though, if you do anything to change the info hash the tracker will also see it as a different (unregistered) torrent.

Don't rely on the transaction hash for identification purposes. Edit: One way to implement a solution is to track the referenced output instead of the transaction hash. If you get two unconfirmed transactions, that have different hashes but use the same referenced output, you know something fishy is going on.
