PHP 5.3 and 5.4, and probably trunk, don't support SSL over Unix Sockets. Sorry! mysqlnd tries to set up SSL and PHP barks that this stream type doesn't support crypto. As workaround: you have to go back using libmysql, where SSL over Unix Sockets works.

Mar 19, 2014 · The server certificate is never verified. And I found no way to force PHPMailer to verify and reject server certificate. As a result SSL encryption is useless and user credentials can be stolen by MITM attack. Please provide a way to verify server certificate using OpenSSL cert store (like postfix does).

I enabled the php_openssl.dll in my php.ini too and restart Apache (If needed ???) So here' is my file config_inc.php now :

Feb 24, 2015 · No, don't do that - you do not need to call smtpConnect() because PHPMailer does it for you whan you call send(), so doing that results in it trying to connect twice, which will probably fail. This is why the SMTPOptions property exists.
