Jan 04, 2016 · The server does not support secure connections. Only on outgoing mail. The server is a Mac Server running 10.11. No other clients are having the same troubles. The clients are mainly 2011 outlooks and a few on 2016. Only one person if having this trouble.

Mar 26, 2007 · Are you running the IIS built-in SMTP-server or Exchange (or other external smpt-server)? Reason for the question is that I'm not quite sure how IIS does with the SMTP-server that's builtin when you install a server certificate for the Web server.

When SSL is disabled and secure renegotiation is implemented as defined in RFC 5746, Outlook requires the server to be in Compatible mode so that the session can be renegotiated from SSL to Transport Layer Security (TLS).

Sorry i havent worked with any smoothwall products at all. But i can say this is you remove any settings or make any changes like you've been doing today, you need to test your ip address (external) and all of them to make sure they are not open relays!

Apr 14, 2018 · I'm using MS Outlook 2016 in Mac. First, in Outlook, go to Tools > Accounts > select your account, and on the right for "Outgoing server:" what is listed for the name of your outgoing server ? Make sure to click on "override default port" and try 465 (and use ssl). Then try 587.

Dec 31, 2017 · Depends on the the client settings in Outlook as well. But you might check the exim logs to be sure that encryption is used at all. I'm not aware of a 100% working solution for the older combos like Outlook 2003 and XP. In my test setup (with Outlook 2003 and XP) I was able to send emails from time to time. Very strange behavior.
