Feb 24, 2011 · Just upgraded by BIOS and booted into Windows and I noticed that my CPU is no longer down clocking. Looks like AMD Cool and Quiet was disabled during the BIOS update. My temps are a bit higher as you would expect. Not much - only 3-4. But in the summer it can help a bit. So I am thinking of turning Cool and Quiet back on.

Mar 12, 2016 · I suspect the AMD Cool n Quiet was causing instability on your Motherboard, as it lowers the CPU frequency and voltage. Usually this does not cause problems, but it can on certain Motherboards. If you are feeling brave you could try enabling C6 Power Saving State, if problems return then you can simply disable it again. Now, enjoy your system.Reviews: 27

Nov 13, 2014 · Work in Windows XP but not in Windows 7 32 or 64 bits... I've tried everything and it will not. The only way I managed to do the Cool'n'Quiet function was using RMClock. But with this program, are altered clock and voltage when in full load or idle, but does not change the fan speed. Ie, it is "cool" but not "quiet" .

Apr 28, 2006 · Now reset and go to the BIOS and enable the Cool N Quiet option. Now boot into Windows and check your frequency and voltage levels with CPU-ID or RMClock. If the steps are done correctly, you should see yourself in P-State 3 until you do some CPU activity, to which it will switch to the other P-States.
