"These PC recovery discs do NOT support this PC model" so the first thing i think is it is the HP Tattoo (DMI String) needs to be updated. I downloaded the tools and followed the instructions to the letter. updated it and tried the DVD again. same thing.

"This system recovery media does not support this computer. You cannot do a system restore to this computer." There's only two buttons: one is OK and one is CANCEL. Click OK will reboot the laptop.
