"The mounted file system does not support extended attributes" Workaround. This problem has to do with a missing end of file marker in a Unix file. This is usually a line feed (LF) at the very end of the file. Insert a LF at the last line of the file to mark the end of the file and this will let you check out/in the files to StarTeam via Samba.

The mounted file system does not support extended attributes. I understand the Enterprise Vault doesn't archive some legacy files due to the fact of files that have extended attributes because they were previously stored in a NON-NTFS file system. But, in my case, I don't believe they were previously stored in a NON-NTFS file system.

The windows message is The mounted file system does not support extended attributes. But if we request the properties of the file after the error message is displayed and then delete the file it appears to let us (most of the time). That is fine except we have several jobs that run on the windows platform that manipulate the files that now fail.
