Nov 14, 2013 · Newer versions are more tolerant ... if a modem does not support the above commands, we will test the AT+CMGS command behaviour to send an SMS in text mode to see if some limited functionality is present. In your case, however, Wavecom GSM modems are pretty standard equipment. I would not expect any unusual responses to these commands.

Jul 08, 2007 · MOSA can only send messages using a GSM mobile handset that supports the Protocol Description Unit (PDU) standard. Initially, I attempted to send a message using a standard modem (without success – generating a “the modem does not support messages in PDU format” message) but once I paired my notebook PC with a Nokia 6310i via Bluetooth, everything jumped into life.

Feb 14, 2018 · Diafaan SMS Server uses the international number plan as the default because that works best for most networks but in your situation you might have to set the 'DefaultAddressType' property in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway to 'National' and use the local number format (06...) only when you send the messages.

This is the case for many (very cheap) older cell phones which have a built-in modem and a serial interface and are easy to connect to Arduino.

I want to send SMSs in PDU mode. I have checked the spec for my modem, and it supports PDU mode. I have developed a PDU encoder and decoder, but now I do not know how to send data to my modem. I tried these AT commands: AT AT+CMGF=0 after sending these commands I sent the PDU data like this:

All modem devices support 2 types of SMS message format – Text & PDU (Protocol Data Unit). Depending on what SMS message forma is set, the AT command format to send and read SMS messages will vary. Text format is straight forward to use.
