I'm trying to use a settings file to store the user preferences when he/she logins on the application. I defined them as user (scope) but I am getting . The current configuration system does not support user-scoped settings Everywhere I've looked on line, they've said to change the setting from User scope to Application scope. However, I DON'T WANT to do this because if it's Application scope, then the 3rd party developers cannot modify the ConnectionString.
