Apr 05, 2008 · Dual Core Support in TF2 This is a tutorial showing you how to enable TF2's Dual Core support. This tweak is not widely known, so I thought I would share it here. Jan 15, 2008 · Does it not support Dual core by default? I thought Valve revised the source engine just to add multi-core support to the new games. Anyhow, after some researching, I found the command "mat_queue_mode 2", an unsupported Source console command for multi-core support.

In TF2's Steam launch options, add -threads #. # is between 2 and the amount of cores you have in total minus 1 (see step 3). This spread the usage around a lot. More cores helps although it probably wont do much beyond a couple cores. Set TF2's affinity to everything but Core 0. Core 0 is commonly used by everything and TF2 sucks at avoiding ...
