Accessing from a NFS Client Follow this procedure to configure the TeraStation for access from UNIX with NFS. Note: This section is for information only. Unix and NFS are not supported by Buffalo. If you choose to configure your TeraStation this way, it does not void your warranty, but you are on your own for tech support.

NOTE: By default the SMB and AFP protocols are enabled on new folders. SMB shares are typically used by Windows clients while AFP shares are typically used by Mac OS clients. The rest of the protocols available in the list relate to internal TeraStation functions except for NFS. NFS shares are typically used by Linux/Unix based clients.

I'm a developer for embedded systems and i want to use the nas to backup my work. No chance at. the moment. This document basically indicates how to configure the Buffalo via web admin page in order to enable the NFS support. Then the client (the Linux computer) must be configured.

Nov 19, 2008 · This is how I configured my 4.0 TB Terastation II Rackmount with NFS and connected it to my ESX 3.01 servers. 1. I had to load the newest firmware from Buffalo for my unit so it would support NFS (I had 1.26 which does not support NFS). The newest firmware that I loaded is version 1.33.
