You can use a controller for everything when using Xpadder or Joy to Key. On the other hand it will be very difficult to set up because of the inventory interaction. Also, while playing System Shock 2 you'll need many more keys than the ones the game pad provides you. I'd go with mouse and keyboard.

Besides this preferable configuration, Xpadder will work the same way for most other Controllers even the cheap and crappy ones :) Playing System Shock 2 with a controller is a two edged sword, most of the gameplay works pretty well, like in the egoshooter parts and everything else.

Oct 25, 2015 · I even beat System shock with it again, but SC has a trackpad. I would never attempt an FPS with an analog stick though, especially not SS2 with its inventory management. But that's just me, maybe someone can. I seriously doubt any controller is good in a competitive setting, but SS2 isn't a competitive game, so a controller should work fine.

Jul 17, 2013 · It's completely uncompatible with any controller, especially after latest patches. You can get it running with Joy2Key solution, but quickly managing your inventory, fixing weapons, hacking etc. like this is just a nightmare.
