Nov 11, 2017 · The BIOS itself doesn't have native support for ANY file system. This is also why on Legacy BIOS systems, you just choose to boot from a particular device. UEFI works completely differently. For security reasons, the UEFI spec deliberately removed support for running executable code from those areas, even when it's booting from an MBR disk.

Nov 22, 2007 · The monitor doesn't start, just sits in standby mode. I have a copy of the BIOS upgrade saved to a cd & tried booting from that without success. I tried resetting the CMOS following instructions from the manual without success. So it appears to me the new BIOS is not recognizing the graphics card or the hard disc or both.

The reason could be that the T7400 processor is a SL9SK model which may not recongised by the bios (latest firmware version) or M1210 motherboard.

Hello, I am trying to update the BIOS on my computer to it's most recent version. I have tried to update by going to the support page for my laptop and running the instaler from there, but when I do and it asks for a restart, the computer just boots normally and the BIOS isn't updated.. I am currently on version F.45 and the latest is F.48.

You can indeed put it on a floppy, which is how I do it, but you have to make sure that you write Plop to the floppy as an image, not individual files or it will not work. Also, you will need to use the Plop menu to try different driver configurations, as the default will not always work.
