Aug 03, 2013 · Steam Support is getting daily loads of tickets and they have to answer to all of them. That's the reason of the delay. In most cases they respond to you in 3-4 days. If not you can try sending a new ticket to them. I remembred once, I send to them a ticket, they replied to me after 10 days.

I usually get a "canned" response within 48 hours, but after that the process of dealing with steam support is slow and laborious. If it's not run-of-the-mill stuff (like recovering a password or something) I often found it faster to email people at valve directly and see if they could light a fire under someone's ass.
