I was creating a table in SQL Server CE and realized it doesn't support varchar. Looking this up, I found that "non-Unicode text columns (varchar, char, text) and smallmoney are not supported; although nvarchar, nchar, ntext, and money are supported" as stated at MSDN.. Is this true?

Oct 24, 2013 · Based on my research, it seems that the SQL Server Management Studio cannot open SQL Server Compact 4 files, only SQL Server Compact 3.5 files. However there is a workaround for you, please try to use Visual Studio 2010 SP1 + VS Tools for SQL CE 4.
