On another forum, [I am desperate to get this resolved!] it was suggested that I uninstall all SQL apps, use windows installer clean-up to remove debris, log in as Administrator and run the file SQLEXPRADV_x86_ENU.exe - that didn't work, the install stopped altogether after the Support Files were installed.
