Eclipse's PDE projects have the META-INF directory at the same level as the src directory, but Spring dm Server plug-in requires the META-INF to be a child of the src directory, otherwise it doesn't see the MANIFEST.MF and (unhelpfully) silently generates a default MANIFEST.MF that hides the problem.
