Jan 04, 2013 · SpeedFan 4.46 is out with "greatly improved DELL support" :) P.S. To control the fan you have to enable "DELL support" in options and restart SpeedFan.

Oct 23, 2017 · Hi, I have an Inspiron 5567, and after downloading SpeedFan I've noticed the fan RPM is either 0, or when I do something intensive it leaps to around 3500ish RPM, making a huge noise. How can I resolve this? I'm worried about my laptop overheating. Many thanks.

This is a subset of the hardware that SpeedFan can properly work with. Please note that this is not the listing of the motherboards where SpeedFan is able to access readings from temperature sensors and S.M.A.R.T. hard disks. As an hardware monitoring tool, SpeedFan can work almost on every hardware.

SpeedFan is a program that monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures in computers with hardware monitor chips. SpeedFan can even access S.M.A.R.T. info and show hard disk temperatures.SpeedFan supports SCSI disks too. SpeedFan can even change the FSB on some hardware (but this should be considered a bonus feature).

But when I enable SpeedFan's DELL Support, I do see some changes: 1. I now see two new fans (Pwm1 and Pwm2) 2. When I change fan speeds in SpeedFan, the fan speed numbers in SpeedFan (for all 4 fans) go up or down, but the actual fan speeds in my PC don't change.

Aug 23, 2015 · To see if it works on your machine, run SpeedFan with "Dell Notebook Support" enabled. It does exactly the same thing as the GPL code I linked below and offers RPM readings, temperature measurement, and limited fan speed control. The only real problem seems to be signature enforcement for Windows drivers.
