Feb 10, 2014 · WWise (its a sound system used in all recent AC games) checks your system settings and automatically adjusts it's ouput, so if you want 5.1 then simply set 5.1 in your windows sound settings. Then if you want to output 5.1 using SPDIF you need a sound card with DD Live or DTS Connect support (DD/DTS realtime encoders) and enable it ofcourse.
