To enable ALSA support you need at least to build the kernel with primary sound card support (CONFIG_SOUND). Since ALSA can emulate OSS, you don’t have to choose any of the OSS modules. Enable “OSS API emulation” (CONFIG_SND_OSSEMUL) and both OSS mixer and PCM supports if you want to run OSS applications with ALSA.

Apr 10, 2018 · WSL doesn't currently support sound devices. Hence when you open a GUI desktop or apps in X410, you will not hear anything other than the basic system bells (ex. CTRL+G). We hope Microsoft add the support in the future version of WSL. You should be able to encourage them by upvoting the following UserVoice topic: Sound card & ALSA support
