Oct 16, 2014 · I have a sonicwall TZ 210 and a Cradlepoint MBR1400. I want to setup VRRP with the cradlepoint as my backup gateway, and the sonicwall as my primary. The issue I am having is the cradlepoint is always takes over as the master. The settings show that the way VRRP takes over is based on the priority of the Virtual IP.4.5/5(10)

For the switch to SonicWall connection you want to use Access mode for the VLAN you have designated for the SonicWall connection. In your previous example you were using VLAN 50. The track command should be used just on the Master switch. Can you grab the output from # show vrrp, from both switches?

The Active/Active Clustering feature is not backward compatible. When upgrading to SonicOS from a previous release that did not support Active/Active Clustering, it is highly recommended that you disable High Availability before exporting the preferences from an HA pair running a previous version of SonicOS.

This is my first attempt at a VRRP config, so be gentle! ... if we can arrange to get this working on the single Sonicwall NSA 2650 using a 2x WAN interface configuration with it's built-in HA support, that might be easier. But given that I haven't been able to find anything solid on this configuration, I'm not sure where to go from here.
