For Solaris this period split into two years of full support and 3 years of limited support. During the priod of full support Solaris gets all software updated and only new hardware support is no longer added. Solaris 8 is about to hit end of sales in Feb. 07.

Jan 16, 2018 · There is one Oracle lifecycle pdf which says Solaris 10 Premier Support would end on Jan 2018 and extended support would be there till Jan 2021. Please let me know if it is true and whether there would be separate contract for extended support and what difference will it make.
