Basicaly whole question is in topic: want to delete texture supports (cut the connection beetwen Tex Support and Texture editor), but dont want to Freeze object - it's subdiv version (create -> Poly.Mesh -> subdiv) from low-res model and want to keep that link.

Freeze. Bakes the texture projection's UVW transformations into its UV coordinates (editable in the Texture Editor). However, it keeps the relation with the texture support object — in this respect, it is different from freezing the projection directly, which removes the support and collapses all texturing operators.

The texture support in Softimage is an operator that calulates the UVs based off of different projections. When you freeze the operator stack in Softimage texture supports are then baked into fixed UVs. While texture supports are on the operator stack they can be resized and will interactively update the UV data for the object.
